KareKare Curl to open at Aquatica Orlando April 12

karekare curl

Aquatica Orlando’s newest attraction opens on April 12.

“KareKare” means “waves” in the Maori language, and when combined with “Curl,” meaning in a curved shape, this new ride earns the description of “curve-shaped wave” – which is exactly what riders will experience when climbing the vertical wave wall.

Using your Three mobile to make FREE calls within the USA

How to use your Three mobile to make FREE calls within the USA.

Things to do on a day off from the parks

A day off from the parks- ideas on what to do

If you’re like so many other families vacationing at the most magical place on earth, you’re traveling with children, and occasionally it’s nice to take a break from the parks during your trip. It’s ok—lots of families choose to do this. And thankfully, Disney World offers a proverbial buffet of activities to do without stepping a foot inside one of its four theme parks. Here are some of those things you can enjoy with your family on a day off from the parks—and still have a wonderfully magical time. No ticket needed!

Disney Springs Balloon – float high on your day off from the parks.

At Disney Springs near Starbucks, you can enjoy the Characters in Flight Aerophile tethered helium balloon. The balloon ascends 40 stories in the air and stays in the air for about 10 minutes. While you’re there, you will enjoy 360-degree views of the Walt Disney World Resort. The Aerophile balloon is a great way to see some amazing sights while having a day off from the parks.

Conquer the kitchen sink!- however not the washing up even if it is your day off from the parks

On a day off from the parks, head over to Beaches and Cream Soda Shop between Disney’s Yacht Club and Disney’s Beach Club and order the Kitchen Sink. It’s a massive dessert—more than enough to share—and you’ll still have some left over! Just look at these ingredients—eight scoops of ice cream topped with fudge, butterscotch and peanut butter toppings, banana slices, cinnamon spice cupcake pieces, angel food cupcake pieces, chocolate syrup, marshmallow crème, strawberry topping, pineapple topping, an entire can of whipped topping, brownie pieces, dark and white chocolate shavings, chocolate cookie pieces, chocolate chips, peanut butter chips and more! You may need the whole day from the parks to tackle this mammoth dessert!

Enjoy your day off from the park by Taking a round-trip ride on the monorail.

It won’t cost you a park ticket to hop aboard the monorail. And sometimes it’s more fun to ride when you’re not racing to Magic Kingdom or EPCOT so you don’t miss a FastPass+ time or a dining reservation. It can be both fun and relaxing to board a train, sit back and take in the sights all around you!

Go shopping at Disney Springs.

There are over 100 different stores, shops and boutiques at Disney Springs. You can find anything! There are shops that sell Disney World souvenirs, housewares, apparel, toys, collectibles, Christmas ornaments and decorations and more! If you can’t find it at Disney Springs, you probably can’t find it anywhere around the Disney World Resort. Remember you wallet for your day off from the parks.

Use your day off form the parks to make a splash.

Disney World not only has four theme parks, but there are also two water parks at the resort. Guests can enjoy water fun at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon or Disney’s Blizzard Beach. Both water parks offer Guests different water rides and attractions, as well as quick-service restaurants where they can grab a bite so they don’t have to leave during the day! The water parks are great places to spend your day off from the theme parks!

Resort hop.

You don’t need to be staying on Disney property to resort hop, it’s so much fun—stopping in to different Disney Resort hotels and taking in all the decorations and theming, doing some pin trading, and even stopping for lunch or dinner in a resort hotel restaurant. During the Christmas holidays, the resorts are dressed in their holiday best, and resort hopping is also at its best. And no ticket is required for this day off from the parks!

Have a day off from the parks to ride a Surrey Bike

Think of these bikes as bicycles built for two. Or four. Or six. Surrey bikes are available to rent at Disney’s Boardwalk. And after you take a leisurely surrey bike ride with the family, head to Trattoria al Forno at the Boardwalk for some amazing Italian comfort food.
