Florida Tips

Planning is essential to any vacation, but particularly for a Disney World vacation. Making good choices, and planning ahead can make a world of difference but be flexible and have days off between theme park visits your feet will thank you for it. Read blogs and articles and get yourself acquainted with what Orlando has to offer and all the Florida tips available. Review locations, attractions, entertaining, dining and characters. Ask all the people involved in the vacation what it is they want to do so that no one is going to feel left out. Take your notes and put together a budget that will take the guessing game away from what can and cannot be afforded.  Our best recommendation is to have each person in your family pick two or three MUST-DO’s to make their first Disney trip magical. Many people don’t venture far from the theme parks and International Drive, and that’s a shame, as there is SO much more to discover than just the obvious. If you want to see more than just the theme parks, spend a couple of days exploring the suburbs around Orlando. Winter Park, Down Town Orlando, Winter Haven are to name but a few of the lovely places Orlando has to offer. Don’t forget to include tips and spending money in your budget. Tipping is expected at around 15 to 20 percent, with 18 percent automatically added for parties of six or more at many eateries.

Disney World travel tips

Planning an itinerary for the parks and buying tickets can be really confusing. Is it better to book tickets in advance? The Florida tips is yes. There are really good ticket packages available in the UK, which actually give you great deals. Plus, when you are planning a trip for a large group of people, it helps to know in advance what people really want to do and then have time to research and buy the best tickets to suit your trip.

Make yourself a My Disney Experience account. Disney World offers these wonderful accounts to help guide you through the vacation process. It’s easy to follow and you can do things such as make reservations, connect with family and friends, choose fast pass selections link everything to one location, view photos, and more! Once you’ve reached the park, you’ll have all of your information right at your fingertips with the My Disney Experience app on your phone.

Fast Passes – Just link park admission to your Disney account to start using Fast Pass+ service. With a ticket or pass, you can make your selections up to 30 days in advance.

Do you want dining options? Are you looking to be eating in the park restaurants or are you happy to take in your own food (which is allowed) or just buy from the many snack concession stands. Advanced Dining Reservations (ADRs) allow you to snag dining reservations 180-days before your travel date.

Say cheese! Being that this is your first vacation to Walt Disney, you’ll want to capture those amazing moments you are soon to experience. Disney offers a great system called Photo Pass. Anywhere you see Photo Pass Cast Members, you’ll want to take a moment and smile for the camera. These photos are linked to your My Disney Experience account. If you want to have ALL of your Disney photos rather than selecting just a couple to purchase from the Photo Pass system, check out the Memory Maker Package.

Florida tips

Shop in advance

Buy all your sun creams and toiletries either before you travel or from a dollar shop or supermarket once your there. Try never to buy from the parks as they are very expensive. Also bring your own rain poncho to the parks as these are also expensive and you will undoubtedly need it during the summer as rain fall is common at some point during the day. If you’re planning to have snacks or food within the parks then a good idea is to do a quick stop at a supermarket before you go in as this can save you a lot of money. Consider using a stroller. Even if you have children who haven’t used one in years they can come in handy, as the parks are huge and little ones will get tired. You can buy a cheap one with an umbrella for as little as $20 from Walmart and other retailers or alternatively rent one from the parks.

Make the most of your Florida vacation tips

If you can don’t just pick the basics on everything, but instead make your first Walt Disney Vacation super memorable! Instead of a standard table service restaurant, check out a dinner show Capones, Medieval Times or chose a character dining option in the parks. Maybe one day you could even rent a boat and get out to sea or go on an airboat through the Everglades. Going shopping at Disney Springs? How about a ride up into the sky with Characters in Flight! Disney is where dreams come true and if traveling to Disney is a rare event for you then maybe you can be extravagant on some things if your budget allows.

The best Florida tips

Be prepared

If you want to alleviate any unnecessary stress while in the park or out for the day exploring, it’s as simple as being prepared. Some of the recommended items to put in your rucksack are bottled water, snacks, sunscreen/sunglasses, hand sanitizer, cell phone, cell charger, band aids and pain relief (just in case). Be sure shoes for you and your family, especially kids are comfortable as there is a lot of walking involved. Forget fancy and go with comfortable clothing and possibly a change of clothes especially for the kids for any unexpected spills or the weather. Have a plan that everyone knows about for any unexpected separation from your party and how to implement it. The more prepared you are easier your day will be.
